what does the face of the logo represent?

The face is the whistling winds that rise up from the water. There is also a crown. It was as if the wind and grooves of the course were the king. There are some that say the face resembles Mr. Kohler. That was not intentional. The deep grooves and winding motion of the face also represents the golf course. Pete Dye provided insights about the course which were considered for the design.
