Teacher’s Comments: A good basic, cheap ball
Nike’s Mojo ball is my current go-to ball for playing in cooler weather on leaf-covered fairways. It’s long enough, and straight enough, and checks up on the green reasonably well. There’s nothing to compete with mid- and premium-range balls, but the price … the price can’t be beat.
On a whim, I picked up a box of 24 Mojo balls at Target last week for $19. I figured that even if I didn’t particularly like them, the Mojo would be good for playing on Michigan’s leaf covered courses. If I lost one, at under a buck-a-ball, I wouldn’t really care. The photo below shows the dilemma that I often face (a side-effect of my predilection for playing cheap courses).
As it turns out, the Mojo is a decent ball. Slightly shorter for me than my other go-to balls (the Wilson Duo and 3-UP), it still produces respectable distance. For a two-piece ball, it also checks up pretty well on the green.
I liked the Mojo enough that I went back to Target and bought another box of 24. That should last me for at least this fall season, and probably the next.

Sometimes there’s no substitution for a good quality cheap golf ball! Fall golfer’s have to be scrappy.
