Fore! The Best of PG Wodehouse On Golf

Fore!: The Best Of Wodehouse On Golf
In this cold winter weather, I find nothing as warming as a good book on golf. One of my favorite “golf” authors is P.G. Wodehouse (1881 - 1975), a humorist who over the span of 70 years produced novels, short stories, plays, poems, song lyrics, and newspaper and magazine articles. Although his most famous creation is the “Jeeves” series, Wodehouse also put together a wonderful series of stories on golf. Most are told from the perspective of the “eldest member” of a fictitious country club as he holds court in the club’s grille. The stories are light, humorous, often romantic, and always very true to the spirit of the game.
If you’ve never read Wodehouse, Fore! is a good place to start.
