Today, my family competed in the Arkansas Scottish Festival 4-man scramble Kilted Invitational.  Our team was made up of one friend of my dad, and me, and then for the 3rd and 4th position, it was a rotation between my brother, my cousin, and my dad - none of those 3 are regular players, my dad is unable to play a full 18, and my brother and cousin haven’t played in quite some time.

We did pretty well, with a 67 5-under.  Low was a 60, high was an 83.  The middle flight, was where we were, had 6 teams (of 16)- and was made up of 3 65s and 3 67s.

Anyhow, we didn’t win as a team, but on the 13th hole, (the 16th we played), I won closest to the pin, at 18 inches on a 145 yard par 3.

Here is the freaky thing.  Last year, I won the same prize, for the same thing, on the same hole.  I think it was slightly closer last year.  I had thought for a moment that I was about to win the hole in one prize, which was a set of Big Berthas.

Apparently, you OWN that hole.

I played in a scramble yesterday, in a high wind. There was a skin on the par 3—an island green ala the TPC. Closest to the hole wins. One guy hit the fringe. No one hit the green.
