I would love to from avid golfers out there about what is great about golf

In the interest of total honesty, I am a geeky researcher trying to learn more about golf for a project.  It occurs to me, though, that all golf companies should be learning from and working with folks who love the sport, meaning people like you, the PGA, golf magazine writers, etc.  In the end, we all have the same goal – to share the great parts of golf with new people and increase enjoyment of the sport for those already on board.

What’s great about golf is possibly too big a topic for a blog.  However, any responses here would be hugely valued. I promise I have nothing to sell, this is entirely about my own curiosity.

If anyone is willing to talk to me “off-blog”, my email is .  The more I learn about the sport, the more I want to know!  I’d love a chance to hear what you have to say in a phone conversation.

I love being relaxed and the sense of freedom I feel when on the golf course. You must play golf simply because you enjoy it and no other reason.

Golf… More Than a Game

At KiS Golf, we believe that golf is more than a game.  It is a vehicle that can take you many places, and each one is beautiful in its own way.  Each round of golf is a mini-vacation, a time away from honking horns and blaring cell phones.

Every golf course provides a healthy, warm environment that is perfect for family communications.  Children will share things with their parents on a golf course that they won’t anywhere else.

Watch an eight-year-old on a golf course, and you will observe one happy guy.  In addition to the pure fun that golf provides, there is everything that a great campground has:  creeks to explore, butterflies to catch, puddles to stomp in, fish to watch and catch.

At sunset, he might see deer, fox, geese, turkeys, elk, or any of the wildlife native to the area.  During his time on the golf course, that child is healthy, happy, and engaged in his world, not separate from it.  He is in the game.

What can your family learn from golf?

Respect for nature
Respect for parents and siblings
Respect for friends and strangers
An understanding of the need for rules, both in golf and in life
An understanding of the nature of honesty
An appreciation of beauty
Depth perception
Balance
Self Control
Learning to deal with disappointments
Learning to deal with successes
It provides peaceful time together
It is a sport enjoyed by men and women, boys and girls of all ages
