I am wondering how common this is with the fellow golfers.
I have not been hit with a ball- the closest to me, probably about 4 yards away.
At lunch I was in the golf store across from work talking with some buddies and a guy came in who had been hit yesterday, and it sent him to the hospital! This poor schlub was sitting in the cart at the 18th green adding scores after he had finished his putt, it sounded like he still had partners finishing out the putting- when a ball came flying in hit the cart path and then hit him in the temple. Jeez- people need to take it easy hitting into other folks!
Appearantly one of his partners was close enough to catch him as he said something about it hurting right before his eyes rolled up and he went to sleep. He woke up in the ambulance and luckily (compared to what it could be)- only has a concussion. What was odd was that I didn’t even see a bruise on him.
This wasn’t at my course, I don’t know the layout of this one-- but it does concern me because my 3 year old loves being at the course, and I have not yet taken her for a round, I don’t think I want to on a Saturday or Sunday anyway- but I do have concerns about it as does my wife.
