I am a new golfer and I was just wondering if there are any ways to polish or buff my TaylorMade r7 irons and burner driver to remove the scratches.

I think that buffing irons is probably a waste of time. But you can get either done. GolfWorks offers both service. Look here:

Well Hooked On Golf turned me onto Velocity Wipes to clean and polish clubs

I am not as pleased as that reviewer is, but I do put a few individual wipes in the bag to clean during play if one is particularly dirty (put a couple in a ziplock bag to keep moistness).  I would not consider the club “polished”, it does not rebrighten the club, IMO.

The best I can do, I use Dawn dishwashing soap, a few squirts in a bowl full of hot water.  I submerge the clubheads in the solution, and then use a toothbrush on the clubs until all the dirt is removed from every grove and crevice.  This gets my clubs looking better than anything else.

I have wondered about using a toothpaste or denture cleaner on the clubs as well, but I haven’t tried this yet.

Note- none of these remove or fill scratches, I don’t know how you would do that.

Oh, and buffing, I hope you are talking about a bottom or top of the club, on the face that would reduce the effectiveness of the grooves.  I wouldn’t buff any club on any surface.

One thing that I do on the woods that I make, before playing them—or selling them—is to give them a good dose of auto polish. That puts a nice finish and offers some protection.
