That sounds like a nice set-up. What shafts are you playing in the woods?
I had a typo, actually, my Zunos are MP-67’s.
I am going to get some new wedges, too. I was thinking of getting the Vokey Spin Milled so the grooves might last longer. I am getting sick of buying wedges every season or sooner. I already made the switch from 48/52/56/60 to 48/54/60 to lose a wedge. This time around I might do 48/52/58.
I like the V1x. My swing speed isn’t ridiculously high, but the V1x feels a little more lively to me. I do notice more spin with the V1, though.
Nitro,
Sorry about the delay in answering. I use Yahoo as my email account and for some reason it sent this the golfblogger to my spam folder. I normally don’t even look it there. I think it’s set where it will get me the email notices in my regular folder.
My driver has a Proforce 65 X-stiff shaft. My drives are between 280-310. The problem is the direction. About once a round I get a block right shot that is off the golf course.
I’m cheap on the 3 wood. I have a steel X-stiff shaft. It flies about 240. It is one of my most consistant clubs. I use the 3 wood and 1 iron off the tee if it is tight fairways.
I try to stay with the same ball so that I will know what is going to happen each time. If I jump around with balls I’m not sure it the flight pattern is the ball, club, or me.

Bangup club- Callaway X-16 6-iron - Graphite Firm—When I play a scramble or tourney, the X-20 6-iron comes out of the bag to make 14. This club I use under tree branches and off hard pack or possible pebbles.

Great Big Bertha 8.5 degree driver - Would like to get to where I can hit this reliably. When I hit it right, I can go 30 yards past the 454.
Callaway X-14s 3-PW Graphite Firm.
Odyssey White Steel #1 blade.
I think I would rather have a 7 iron myself, but the 6-iron was so close to my X-14 and X-20 sets, and it was $10 from the demo barrel at the store one day.
Actually, for going Phil handed with the club upside down away from a tree or large stones, even a 6-iron is a little too lofty. But overall, this has worked out real well.
Unfortunately I picked this club up a week too late to avoid some damage to one of my sets. I had just bought the X-20s, and was playing in a scramble with my dad, and my ball was clearly the best ball but it was lying on some hard pack with pebbles in it. I used my X-14 7-iron (my dad was using those clubs) and put a good scratch right in it. A week later I got the $10 6-iron.
Well I have changed up my bag somewhat - here are the changes: (I had some fairly generous Callaway Pre-owned gift certificates given to me at Christmas)

Callaway X-Hot 3w, Stiff shaft - OUTSTANDING CLUB! I loved my GBB 3W, but 205 was the best I could EVER do, usually more like 190-200 with roll. This 3W I am hitting 200-210 on the fly, and it is straight as an arrow (that may have to do a lot with the much stiffer shaft)
Replacing the 5W is the Callaway X-Hybrid 2H, stiff shaft.
All the rest is the same, I have also added a 60/9 Callaway X-Tour wedge.
What comes out of the bag during events, I am still working on. It may be the 3H, or possibly the 9-iron.
I was given a Golfsmith (Star Trek) Enterprise putter for Christmas. Played with it a short time, but very difficult for me to get used to. The Tri-Ball SRT is SO EXCELLENT, I cannot see going to anything else at this point. The Enterprise putter might come in handy during the summer, it does hit very true, but it is also pretty soft. While our greens are slower in the winter, I had too much trouble getting the ball across the green when necessary.
