Did anyone play yesterday? I did, it was the first really warm sunny spring day here in the Okanogan. I didn’t play well at all; my putting on the front 9 was horrible. (21 Putts) I had four 3 putts. Now our greens on the front are in pretty good shape for early season. So I can’t blame anything on the greens. It was all me, I couldn’t get the line, the weight anything. The only one putt I had was inside 10 ft.
So off we go to the back nine. As I mentioned the other day our greens on the back are in really rough shape. The worst I’ve seen in the spring. That being said I can honestly say they cost me only 2 strokes, good putts that on good greens would have dropped. Get this, I took 15 putts on the back, I had four 1 putts, no 3 putts, one birdie putt which I made, an eagle putt on #18 which I ran past the hole and made the come backer. So go figure!! I’ve been trying to analyze it, and I guess knowing the shape the greens were in on the back, I wasn’t expecting much. So I just tried to strike the ball firmly to get it through all the moguls and keep it online. It worked. I guess if us mere mortals could figure out this wonderful game of golf, we would be playing at Augusta this weekend!  rolleyes

It snowed here in Ann Arbor yesterday. It’s snowing now.

I’m really angry with Al Gore over this. It’s a good thing he wasn’t elected President because he apparently can’t keep a promise. Al’s been promising Global Warming for years now and so far I’m seeing no sign of it. smile

Has Al been visiting Michigan lately? You may be a victim of the “Gore Effect”.

(From http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gore+Effect)

“The phenomenon that leads to unseasonably cold temperatures, driving rain, hail, or snow whenever Al Gore visits an area to discuss global warming. Hence, the Gore Effect.

- Australia, November 2006: Al Gore is visiting two weeks before summer begins. The Gore Effect strikes: “Ski resort operators gazed at the snow in amazement. Parents took children out of school and headed for the mountains. Cricketers scurried amid bullets of hail as Melburnians traded lunchtime tales of the incredible cold.” (The Age)

- New York, March 2004: “Gore chose January 15, 2004, one of the coldest days in New York City’s history, to rail against the Bush administration and global warming skeptics… Global warming, Gore told a startled audience, is causing record cold temperatures.” (NY Environment News)”
