I saw a review of newly designed golf tees that are supposed to increase one’s distance off the tee.  The theory is that the less ball-tee contact, the less friction, which in turn translates into longer (and straighter) tee shots.  I suspect that some of the positive results are caused by the “placebo effect” of using something that is supposed to help.  My feeling is these products are gimmicks designed to separate golfers from their money but I am willing to listen to opposing views.  Anyone have a positive spin to this subject.

If you hit a tee ball properly, you are hitting the ball on a slightly upward angle, making the tee give resistance to only the clubhead after the ball is struck.

Anyway, a tee resists so little as to be almost zero.

Don’t buy into it.
