For a while I have had a minor irritation with my cartbag/push cart configuration.  The bagboy cart I have the top bracket was too tall for the short Callaway bag I have.  I put a spacer on the bottom a while ago, and it seems like the bag is too short again.  (I don’t know how it degraded).  anyway, sometimes it makes it so the bottom clubs are difficult to extract/insert into the bag.

Off I went to Golfsmith today to find a good onsale bag.  I still like the cart, and with a Mustang coupe, I have only limited room for the cart and bag (last year with my Mustang Convertible, the bagboy cart I had was the only option for a cart I had because the wheels pop off and it gets very flat in the trunk).

Well, I couldn’t find a bag I like more - other than it being a couple inches higher - and for $150 or more, I couldn’t see going with a new bag.  I was resigned to putting in more spacers or jury rigging the biaches together, when on the way out I saw a new cart.  The Bagboy Compact LX, which was like $250 last year, I had salivated over was on closeout for $100.  This thing gets really small, and the brackets seem better spaced.  I went and popped a similar bag to mine on it, and it worked out great.

I have to see this afternoon how it all fits together, and then I will be walking with it this Thursday and Saturday.  I will post results.

I already know I liked the wide tire design of the new high end bagboys and clikgear carts, but for $100, how can this be wrong?  It feels right.

The trunk on the Mustang coupe is SOOO much larger than the convertible I had.  I unboxed the new cart, wheeled it around the course and range for a bit, and then actually fit both the old and new carts, the golf bag, 3 pairs of shoes and 4 extra clubs comfortably in the trunk.
