Golf Games: Unmatched Play
Unmatched is an alternative to using handicaps in a match play game between two players of disparate skills.
On each hole, the lesser skilled player tees off second and then chooses to play his ball, or his opponent’s. Players then finish the holes with their assigned balls.

Golf Games: T. Woods
In T. Woods, a golfer pays his playing partners the agreed bet whenever he hits a tree. However, the bet is off if the ball bounces back to the fairway.
Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

Golf Games: Backgammon
One of the most interesting parts of the board game backgammon is the doubling cube. A game of backgammon begins with a value of one point but during the passage of the game, players may double the stakes by rotating the doubling cube: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64. The player challenged by the double may refuse, but in doing so concedes the game and pays the stake at the current value of the doubling cube. While the cube stops at 64, there’s actually no limit to the stakes.
The golf version of backgammon may be played in either a match or skins format.
The match format begins with a single wager, which a player may double at the beginning of any hole. The opponent may then accept, accept and offer a double of his own, or pay out at the current value.
In the skins format, each hole is worth a set amount, with the low score taking the prize. As with the board game, whenever a player thinks he has the advantage, he can double the current bet. The opponent then may either accept the new bet, accept and double, or concede at the hole’s current value.
Either of these is dangerous, so it is probably best for the players to figure out beforehand just how far they’re willing to go. Small initial stakes are probably best.

Golf Games: Three For Free
Every player has holes on a course that just don’t agree with them. This game lets you take those holes out of the equation. Before the round, each player can designate three holes on which they score an automatic par. The remainder of the holes are scored normally.

Golf Games: Left and Right
Left and Right is a game of ever-shifting teammates. After each set of tee shots, eyeball the ball positions. The two on the left form one team; the two on the right form the other. Play then continues as per better ball. Each player on the team that wins the hole scores a point. Pay off the bets at the end based on point differentials.
