Software is the new frontier of golf. There's quite a bit of it out there that promises to improve your golf game, including game trackers, handicap trackers, tournament management software, swing analysis programs and games.
Dose-A-Day Golf For Your PDA
I’m a huge fan of the Palm pdas. I’ve owned one for at least ten years now, and can’t figure out what I’d do without it.
Dose-A-Day Golf is a “tear off calendar” for your Palm or Windows PDA. Like the desktop version, it gives you daily tips, tricks, jokes and stories from Gary McCord. But unlike the desktop version, it doesn’t leave you with all of those little square pieces of paper. Even better: you can save your favorites for later viewing.
I’m hoping Santa brings me one for Christmas.
Places To Play On The Palm
In addition to being a golf nut, I’m also a Palm Pilot geek. (You can tell how long I’ve had one by the fact that I can’t stop calling it a “Palm Pilot”, instead of just “Palm”.)
I take my Palm everywhere with me—even on the course. I actually feel naked without it.
So when I found out that Golf Digest had put its entire Places To Play book done up as a Palm OS database, I was totally geeked out.
Here’s what they say:

Tiger Woods 2006 Video Game Preview
I’ve been playing video golf since I discoered it on my roommate’s Apple II back in college. Its a lot of fun—especially in those winter months, when its the only golf you can get. Here’s a preview of Electronic Arts’ newest game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006.
Golf S Java Round Tracking
Golf S is a free java application that helps you keep track of your golfing rounds.
From the developer: “If you like to save your golf rounds to look at them later, maybe this is a program for you. You can not only look at your score cards, you can also see some average datas like putts per green. GolfS is written in java and is released under the GNU GPL, which makes it free to use and change. If you like GolfS, please send a postcard to the programmer.”
