Hireko Bionik 105 Red Insert Putter
If my basement were bigger, I’d collect putters. The variety of sizes, shapes and colors are simply amazing. Take the Bionik 105 Red insert, for example. With its dark zinc body and red, the Bionik 105 is quite striking. The shape also is neat—its a bit of a cross between a blade and a mallet.
Maltby Xtreme Moment Putter
Maltby Xtreme Moment Design 01 Putter Component Head
Club designer Ralph Maltby of the GolfWorks is the mad scientist of club design. Most of his—often highly imaginative—clubs are designed to greatly improve the play of the average golfer. They can be odd looking, though.
I’ve built quite a few clubs using Maltby GolfWorks components, and have even visited the factory showroom in Ohio. Now that the company as been bought by The GolfWorks, these designs are available to a much wider audience.
The Xtreme Moment Putter is a good example of Maltby’s work. The rather odd design has resulted in what Maltby says is the highest moment of inertia ever built into a putter. That should result in more stable contact, and more accurate putts.
Hireko Prophet Putter
Hireko’s Prophet Putter’s deep face-to-back shape, along with fixed weights in the heel and toe, are designed to help offer a high moment of intertia, stabilizing the putting stroke. It’s also got a milled aluminum insert to provide a better feel with the modern ultra-soft urethane covered golf balls.
his unique design pushes weight to the limit. The dual fixed weights in the heel and toe portions of the putter, coupled with a very broad design from face-to-back helps stabilize putts, resulting into less strokes on the green. The milled aluminum insert provides a more solid feel with today’s ultra-soft urethane covered golf balls.
I like the look.
As with all Hireko clubs, this one comes with a money back guarantee.
Dynacraft Interchange Putter
Hireko Golf’s Dynacraft Interchange Putter Series allows you to interchange four different backs to one face. Each back features adjustable weighted screws for further fine-tuning of weight and performance. Collecting all four models give you the ultimate in interchangability.
Bobby Grace Face Off DCT Putter
The Bobby Grace Face Off Putter comes with two inserts that players can use to customize the feel of the putter depending upon the speed of the greens and personal preference. There’s a polymer face for a soft feel, and a titanium one for a harder feel.
Both faces offer what MacGregor golf calls Distance Corrective Technology. This is supposed to help impart the same forward energy to the ball, regardless of where on the face contact is made. That should help to make putting more consistent.
Remember, though, that changing the face of the putter in mid round violates the rules of golf.
