Stonehouse Collection Golf Christmas Cards and Discount Code

Stonehouse Collection Christmas Cards

Grade: A+
Teacher’s Comments: For golfers, a must.

The Stonehouse Collection’s golf-themed Christmas cards are a refreshing break from the usual fare populated by holly, angels, snowflakes and other traditional, but too-well-worn images. The drawings by Rick and Pete Kersten are cute, but not sickeningly so; humorous, but not sophomoric. Most could be described as whimsical.

My favorite image is of a snowman driving a snow ball, while a small cardinal looks on. Another terrific images is of Santa filling a stocking with balls and tees. The envelopes for all of the cards features a full color image of the snowman graphic. The package I received had nine different glossy, full color images, professionally printed on standard greeting card stock.

The messages on the inside are mostly standard holiday slogans: Happy Holiday, Seasons Greetings, Warm Wishes and so on. One, however was specifically golf themed: “May Your Holidays Suit You To A Tee.”

Prices on the cards are very reasonable. The Snowman card I like so much is $8.99 for 12 cards and 13 envelopes. You also can personalize the messages inside for an additional $4.20 per pack (0.35 per card).

The Stonehouse collection is a family run business that sells greeting cards, party invitations and return address labels. The art on the products is mostly produced by Arizona artists Rick and Pete Kersten for the business founded by Rick’s son Matt. In addition to providing products direct to the consumer via the Internet, StonehouseCollection.com also provides businesses with customized holiday card designs that incorporate company logos, custom interiors and signatures, as well as mailing services. Holiday and boxed note cards also are distributed wholesale to retailers such as Macy’s and TJ Maxx.

For GolfBlogger readers, Stonehouse Collection has created a special deal:  Enter the code LOVEGOLF10 at checkout to 10% off your order & receive free shipping.

Street Legal Luxury Golf Cart

image

I’m sure the laws vary by jurisdiction, but Garia claims to have built the first street legal luxury golf cart. I watched the videos on their site, and it looks to me as though it would be a perfect urban vehicle—albeit one for warmer climes than Ann Arbor’s. If you tried riding around in an open buggy here in the winter, you’d look like a snowman in no time at all—not to mention the constant spraying of salty ice water from the roads. What they really need to do is to have clip-on plastic sides to protect against the elements.

I wonder if this would qualify for one of those Obama electric car tax breaks. I haven’t been able to find a price on the Garia, but the tax break could make it much more affordable.

Press release follows:

Christmas Golf Ornaments

There’s an absolutely HUGE selection of golf themed ornaments on Ebay. My own personal tree is decorated in Disney Characters. But I might start a second, smaller one for golf stuff.

Year of The Dogman Book Review

Year of the Dogman by Frank Holes, Jr. Grade: B+ Teacher’s Comments: A good yarn about a scary Northern Michigan legend. I’ll say this at the outset: Year of the Dogman has absolutely nothing to do with golf. But because it’s about Northern Michigan,…
