Golf is a difficult game to master. And to help you through it, inventive minds have come up with thousands of different training devices. From the Swing Jacket, to the Medicus, the SpeedStick, the Inside Approach, the Impact Bag and the Birdie Ball, there's something that will help everyone's game.

Portable Driving Range

Portable Driving Range

The Portable Driving Range comes with a 9’ x 7’ Multi-Sport Net.—certainly large enough for practicing in your backyard. It also comes with a “Teed Up Ball Setter” that holds 45 golf balls and places them onto the rubber driving tee. The final piece of the set is a telescoping BB200 Shag Stick that lets you quickly pick up balls without bending over.

Ernie Els Training System

Ernie Els Training System

The Ernie Els Training System is designed to help you with every shot in golf. It has a weighted sleve called a Tempo Timer which turns any club into a weighted club. It also includes the Rockrolelr and Stimp Dimple to help you with your putter. The Rockroller keeps you from getting too handsy and wristy with your putting, and the Stimp Dimple helps your work on pace.

Swing Glove Trainer

SWING GLOVE Swing Glove

UPDATE: Read The Golf Blogger’s Swing Glove Review Here.

I’m intrigued by the Dynamics Swing Glove Trainer The manufacturer says that it has a

revolutionary wrist guide that is sewn into the back of the glove.  It is a lightweight high-density polyethylene piece that weighs less than 15 grams.  It is molded at an angle that keeps the golfer’s wrist at the proper angle throughout the swing.  It also contains a swivel mechanism that guides the wrist through the proper position for the entire swing.

The reason that I’m interested is that the focus of my recent lesson with my club pro was on wrist position. He thinks that my recent power leakage is due to flipping my wrists at impact. It looks like this might provide the bio feedback necessary.

SWING GLOVE Swing Glove

SWING GLOVE Swing Glove

One of the more confusing components of the golf swing is how the hands and wrists should function. With so many joints and directions that wrists and fingers can be bent, it is often difficult to get a feel for the right angle or right amount of wrist hinge. End the confusion with the Dynamics Swing Glove. Golfers can practice proper wrist movement and hinge both on the practice tee and on the course. The glove extends beyond the wrist, and features a swiveling aluminum rivet sewn directly into the glove to eliminate wrist cupping and loopy swings. This forces the hands to remain on-plane throughout the entire stroke. The Dynamics Swing Glove is a practical solution for developing a proper feel for correct wrist and hand use during the entire swing for any club.

Swing Setter by David Leadbetter

Swing Setter by David Leadbetter

The Swing Setter by David Leadbetter is the latest device that promises to fix your swing faults.

I tried it out at Golfsmith on Saturday, and I’m not sure that I get it. It has a molded grip to help you set your hands, and a couple of magnetized weights set at either end. The upper weight apparently is supposed to release when you set your hands in the proper position at the top of the swing, and the other is supplsed to release when you release your hands at the bottom.

I think.

I’m not sure what this teaches you that the more venerable Medicus Dual 2000 doesn’t.

Eyeline Putting System

Eyeline Putting Alignment

The Eyeline Putting Alignment system is supposed to help you work out your alignment issues.

Eyeline writes:

With the Putting Plane Alignment System you can easily use the mirrored surface to check if your eyes are over the ball, shoulders are lined up, and the putter face is square. Its adjustable rails enable you to practice a perfect back and through stroke that is on plane. The angled rail allows the putter to come slightly inside as it moves back and up

You can get it at Golfsmith.com—The Ultimate Golfer’s Website

Cool Grip

Cool Grip

Sam Snead once said that the key to the grip is to hold the club as gently as if you were holding a baby bird. But most golfers don’t follow this advice. Meanwhile, a too-tight grip can result in a slice as the tension prevents you from turning the club over properly.

The Cool Grip purports to solve this problem. It’s got a electronic sensor that chirps when you grip it too tightly.
