I really liked the BlackMax when I tried a box this last spring. I’m looking forward to trying the Red.

Monza Corza Putter

Teachers’ Comments: Adjustable weights allow a player to customize the club’s weight for the playing conditions.

The Rossa Monza Corza putter is TaylorMade’s first excursion into the world of adjustable weight putters. Like the adjustable weight drivers, such as the R5 TP, the fairwaywoods and the new adjustable weight Rescue Dual, the Corza has two ports where you can adjust the club’s weighting by screwing in variously weighted plugs.

Teacher’s Comments: Forgiving and Versatile.

With the Rescue Dual, TaylorMade has created another excellent addition to its growing line of adjustable weight clubs. Long, forgiving and versatile, the Rescue Dual is a worthy successor to the TaylorMade Rescue, which has been the number one hybrid club on several tours.

The Golf Warehouse is running a special on the TaylorMade Ultimate Cart Bag. Regularly $229, its now priced at $99.

I’m curently in the market for a cart bag ... no, I’m not giving up on walking. Its just that the stand bag that I have doesn’t fit as well into the hand cart as a stand bag would.

I’ve looked a a bunch of them at different pro shops around town. The cheaper ones always seem to be ... well, cheap. And the better ones, with lots of pockets and high quality material are much more expensive.

So this one is looking really good.

TaylorMade R7 TP Fairway Wood w/Graphite Shaft

Teacher’s Comments: This is a very forgiving and versatile club that’s staying in my bag.

In spite of its “Tour” designation, I think that the TaylorMade R7 TP Fairway Wood is a club that could find its way into a lot of players’ bags. As a mid-handicapper, I was unsure whether a “tour driven” club like the R7 Fairway would work for me. Frankly, I’m a little scared of products designed for tour pros, and shafts that say “stiff.”

I know my limitations.

But like the R5 TP Driver, which I reviewed earlier, the R7 TP 3 Wood sent for my review by TaylorMade is a club that I’d love to have stay in my bag.

Teachers’ Comments: This is a driver for the ages, the perfect mix of power and forgiveness.

Like Parsifal questing for the Holy Grail, I have long been in search of THE ONE TRUE DRIVER.

Over the years, I have played any number of glittering jewels, including selections from Adams, Callaway, Spaulding, Titleist, Snake Eyes, and Golfworks. Some were long; some were accurate; some were a little of both. But none were the holy grail - THE ONE TRUE DRIVER.

Then about three weeks ago, an unexpected package from TaylorMade showed up at my door, containing a review copy of the new TaylorMade R5 Dual Driver—TP Edition.
