Finkstrom Golfer Playing Cards

Here’s a cute stocking stuffer. I like card games and wouldn’t mind getting one of these.

Play Nine Card Game of Golf

Here’s another golf tabletop game that I can find out absolutely nothing about. Maybe the publisher of Play Nine will get in contact and let me know what it’s about.

A Good Lie Golf Card Game

When I’m not playing golf for recreation, I play board games—especially games imported from Europe such as The Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride and Carcassone. So this golf card game holds a lot of interest for me.

The trouble is that I can’t find out anything about it. There have been so many failed attempts at making a tabletop game out of golf that I’m afraid to buy it sight unseen.

Anyone have any information?

Sophie Sandolo 2007 Calendar

imageShe’s back!

The 2007 Sophie Sandolo Golf calendar—famous for its nude (or nearly nude) photos of the European LPGA player—now is available.

Sophie is coming off a season in which she scored four top ten finishes, and finished eighth on the Order of Merit. With her clothes on, or naked, Sophie Sandolo is my kind of golfer. smile

You can get the calendar here:

Snake Eyes 653T-H Hybrid Kit

If you’re looking for a gift for the golfer who has everything, why not give him (or her) a club kit. These kits from Golfsmith have practically everything you need to get started: head, grip, shaft, ferrule (the little plastic thing that sits on top of the hosel and gives a smooth transition from club to shaft), plus glues, tape and instructions. When its done, your golfer will have a new club, and the satisfaction of having done it himself.

I actually got my start in golf making and repairing clubs. The first set I played with was a set I made myself. It’s a tremendously fun and rewarding hobby—and you can save some money too (and make some, if that’s your inclination). I like it especially because it gives me something “golf” to do in those long Michigan winter months.

GEL Putter Review

GEL Ruby Putter Grade: A- Teacher’s Comments: Putts as true as any I have ever used. Few ever notice, but when a ball is struck by a putter, it gives a little hop, then skids for a moment before starting to roll toward the hole. The hop…

Sticks: A Golfer’s Tale Book Review

Sticks: A Golfers’ Tale Book Review Sticks - A Golfer’s Tale Grade: C Teacher’s Comments: Good story, poor writing. William Sautter’s novel, “Sticks: A Golfers’ Tale,” is a self-published effort, so you won’t find it in the stores. But Sautter makes an unusual offer.…
