Its proper name is the Open Championship, but on my side of the pond, its known as the British Open. The first Open Championship was held in 1860, with Willie Park winning over Tom Morris. As far as the Golf Blogger is concerned, this is the most interesting of Golf's four majors because the courses are generally so different from what we see on the PGA Tour.

Mickelson Blames Putter

Phil Mickelson is blaming his putting for his poor showing in majors thus far this year. But, he says, he hopes to turn it around for the British Open.

Nicklaus Sets Goal For Open Championship

Jack Nicklaus has set a goal of making the cut in what apparently will be his final appearance in the British Open at St. Andrews—and what some are saying will be his final competitive appearance anywhere.

“I want to finish my career on Sunday, not on Friday,” Nicklaus said on Thursday. “That’s my big goal.”
