Mizuno Bettinardi A-01 Putter
In my humble opinion, Mizuno makes some of the most beautiful golf equipment out there. And this Mizuno Bettinardi Putter is no exception.
The face-balanced, mallet style putter is milled from 6061T6 Aluminum Steel. A beautiful, but functional honeycomb face and one piece design is supposed to offer better response, consistency and feel.
Pinemeadow Xeon Centre Putter
The Pinemeadow Xeon Center Putter offers many of the features of the popular Yes! Golf C-Groove series at a fraction of the price. Like the Yes!, it’s got the circular grooved face that’s supposed to make the ball start rolling more quickly.
The club has an offset hosel to preposition the hands at address and a nice, rounded look at address. The position of the hosel over the blade is supplsed to force the weight of the club behind the ball at impact.
As with all clubs by Pinemeadow, this one comes with a 30 day guarantee.
Hammy Putter
HAMMY PUTTER Milled Faced Putter
If you’ve watched the LPGA at all this year, you no doubt have seen Natalie Gulbis working with her “Hammy” putter. It seems to me to be as much a new style of putting as a new style of putter.
Using the Hammy looks a lot like working with a hockey stock. With your hands apart, you address the ball with an open stance. To putt, your right hand serves as a guide, and a shoulder turn is used to deliver the force.
The theory behind this putter is that it allows you to use both eyes to aim, eliminating the problem of eye dominance and lack of perspective. Since your head is essentially behind the ball, you get a good look at the hole.
The club is called the Hammy because the inventor came up with it while recuperating from a hamstring injury. While he originally used a regular putter, the triple bend and split grip was designed specificaly for the new putting style.
Nike Ignite Putter
Nike’s new Ignite putters feature a full face polymer insert that is 85% lighter than steel. This allowed Nike to restribute weight to the perimeter, making the clubface more stable through impact. The face is CNC milled for a consistent surface.
The Ignite putters come in four styles, including blade and mallet types.
Cyberputter Improves Game
From South Korean manufacturer Infinics comes an LCD equipped putter called Dixx Blu. When a player is properly aligned and the putter positioned correctly, a red dot
The putter also will record data on golfer’s swing, including the path of the swing, swing speed, impact position and the angle of the putter’s face. The idea is that a golfer could use the data as a practice tool. Then, during a regular round, you can replace the sensor with a dummy weight.
For sale in Japan, it’s priced at $800 to $900.
