According to the Scotsman, banker Neil McLellan had acquired more than 3,000 state-of-the-art irons, woods, specialist wedges, putters and accessories in the hope that the latest technology would shave strokes off his 19 handicap.

The auction apparently brought 30,000 pounds (about $56,000).

The driver was arrested for driving under the influence and causing bodily injury - a felony - and taken to Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. She was released on $25,000 bail early Friday morning.
