Golf is the gadget lover's sport. There are more golf gizmos than anyone can count: tees, and markers, stroke counters, range finders, ball retrievers, GPS systems, hat clips, sports seats, divot tools, groove cleaners, weight tape. You can't even begin to count them all.

Mark Mender

Do we need another repair tool? Why not? This one has claws that open up, span the width of the mark, and then repair it by pressing the top together. The Mark Mender also doubles as a cigar holder.

Tournamaster Golf Software

I’ve run a few golf tournaments in my first year as a high school golf coach, I had to run both an invitational tournament, and the league championship. It’s a pain in the butt. Little scraps of paper everywhere. Standings taped to the glass wall of the clubhouse and updated with sharpies. And the whole time, I was thinking there has to be a better way. The Tournamaster software may be the ticket. Author Rory Martin writes:

Tournamaster is a shareware program written as an extension of
Microsoft® Excel 2000-2003 (97 is no longer supported) to manage golf
tournaments. It is not simply a complex spreadsheet solution, but
rather a complete software application. Tournamaster can handle up to
500 teams (1000 players).

V1 Golf

It must be serendipity. I just bought a Sony digital handycam, and then I run across an ad for a piece of software called V1, which allows you to analyze video of your swing. The V1 site is here, and a PC Magazine review is here.

Club-Lok

Last summer, someone stole some clubs from at bag at my club. Maybe if they'd had the Club-Lok it wouldn't have happened. This bag has clamps, which, when locked, prevent club removal. A steel cable allows you to secure it to an immovable object.

Nice idea.
