Although golf has never enjoyed a reputation as a sport for the physically fit (picture an overweight Jack Nicklaus, or Arnold Palmer smoking on the course), in recent years, the idea of strength and flexibility training has really caught on in the sport. Pilates On The Go For Golf DVD

Pilates on the Go - For Golf

Golfers need flexibility (its amazing to see Phil Mickelson put his legs up over his shoulders) and Yoga and Pilates are good ways to get there. Pilates On the Go For Golf says that it is:

A challenging full-body program designed to help you sharpern the mind -body connection! The Pilates method is a form of isometric exercises developed and practiced to simultaneously stretch, strengthen, tone and align the body, while eliminating excess tension and strain on the joints. Maria Leone, owner of the reputable Bodyline studio in Beverly Hills, has over fourteen years experience teaching pilates. A former professional dancer and a black belt in tae kwon do, Maria’s unique style focuses on precise movement and body-mind discipline. Maria trains clients of all ages and levels and is known within the pilates community as a “teacher’s teacher”. Past and present clients include Jennifer Garner, Susan Dey, Pierce Brosnan, and Gina Gershon.

Sabona Magnetic Titanium Sport Bracelet

Titanium Sport

I was tempted to list the Sabona Titanium Sport magnetic bracelet as the ridiculous item of the week. But then I began to wonder if maybe they really do work. I know that modern medicine scoffs at such “natural” and “holistic” treatments, but maybe they don’t deserve all of their bad press.

I also know that a pro friend of mine swears by them.

So I thought I’d ask for some input. Magnetic bracelets: ridiculous or not? Have they done any good for you? Leave a comment or review by clicking on the link below.

And now, even the weekend golfer realizes that fitness can only improve scores. Here’s another site that purports to be able to shape you up.

Basic Golf Shirt Review

Basic Golf Shirt Grade: A Teacher’s Comments: It would get an A plus, but it’s too “hip” for this 40-something guy. (Is “hip” even a term anymore?) The Basic Golf Shirt isn’t. Basic, that is. Rather, it’s a high quality, reasonably priced—and dare I…
