You Know You’ve Had A Bad Day

May 6, 2009

You know you’ve had a bad day driving when you finish a round and notice that your irons are clean, and your woods filthy.

My wedges got a workout, too.

  • I feel your pain.  We seem to be having an unusually wet, cool, and windy spring here in SE Michigan.  It is amazing how the lack of 20-30 yards of roll changes the game for me.  Long par 4’s become driver followed by 3-wood rather than a 4 or 5 iron.  Moderate length holes require a 7 iron rather than a wedge.  In order to get to my preferred lay-up distance on par 5’s, I hit a fairway wood instead of an iron.

Fortunately, I see some light at the end of the tunnel, and it is not a freight train.  I played Forest Akers West yesterday and the ball actually bounced and rolled down the fairway.  Ahhh…the simple pleasures!
