Woot Off In Progress
My favorite deal-a-day website, Woot, currently is in the midst of a Wood-Off. That’s when the site departs from its usual one-item-per-day model to sell products back-to-back. As soon as one item sells out, another is thrown up on the site. There are a couple of flashing orange lights on the site to let you know a Woot-Off is underway, and a progress bar that indicates how many of that particular item are left.
I think it’s fun to check in on the site throughout the day to see what comes up. Woot specializes in consumer electronics and tools, but they occasionally have golf items. It’s funny to visit the forums at that point to see the geeks complain that it’s a golf club or bag, and not a shiny electronic toy.
