Women’s Match Play On Track For Showdown
Match Play championships don’t always work out as far as television is concerned, with the favored matches often not materializing. But that’s not the case with Saturday’s lineup at the Women’s HSBC World Match Play Championships.
So far, the four top seeds are still alive: Sorenstam, Wie, Webb and Ochoa. And take a look at these marquee pairings for Saturday: Michelle Wie versus Se Ri Pak, current LPGA Champion; Karrie Webb v Pat Hurst; and Paula Creamer v Moran Pressel. Annika Sorenstam will play Brittany Lang, while Lorena Ochoa will face Mi Hyum Kim.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a Sorenstam-Wie showdown—they’re in separate brackets, so they could very well meet.

I’d like to see Sorenstam vs Wie. But there are a lot of good matches to watch. I think the media does a pretty good job of promoting a lot of the LPGA players and not just one or two like they do for the PGA tour.
