Wie Out Of Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings
Michelle Wie has fallen completely out of the latest Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings—not because of her play, but because she has played in fewer than 15 events during the current points cycle.
There was the suspicion that the 15 events originally was set to allow Wie to appear in the initial rankings. The men’s world rankings require a minimum of 40 events.
The current top ten in the Rolex Women’s Golf Rankings are: Annika Sorenstam, Paula Creamer, Lorena Ochoa, Yuri Fudoh, Christie Kerr, Julie Inkster, Karrie Webb, Ai Miyazoto, Jeong Jang and He-Won Han.
The surprise of the year thus far has to be Lorena Ochoa.

Do you think it would encourage more competition if the men’s rankings system was based on fewer events? It seems to me if the rankings were prone to more of a change, like the women’s rankings, the top players would be forced to play more and be more passionate about winning. I don’t pretend to know much about the rankings system. I understand some people think you need a phd in math to figure it out.
