Why Michael Campbell Won’t Repeat At The 2006 US Open

An interesting stat: Since 1991, only Tiger Woods and Retief Goosen have finished better than 40th in trying to defend their Open crown.

Michael Campbell is no Tiger Woods.

For that matter, he hasn’t been stuck by lightening, either.

  • Not only that but he’s played in 10 events this year and made the cut in 5.  One however was a cut-less event.  So he’s really only made 4 cuts out of 10.  Add to that the fact that he’s only gone moderately low once this year.

    And vegas has him as at 45/1 and they know what they’re talking about…
