What’s The Difference Between Tiger and Phil?

March 7, 2005

Greg Stoda in the Palm Beach Post has an good column in which he contends that the difference between Tiger and Phil is that one thinks he’s the world number one, and the other knows he’s number one.

Its true that golf is a game of confidence (thanks Bob Rotella) and if you have any doubts about your ability, the other guy is going to beat you. I’ve told the players on my golf team as much before every match.

But I don’t think that Phil lacks in confidence. He fought well to the last shot, and but for an inch on a chip, might have forced a playoff—and then, who knows.

I think this weekend makes this year’s Masters’ something to really look forward to.
