US Government Subsidizes Golf Carts

A government incentive to purchase electric vehicles has produced a bustling business in golf carts. Under the rules, a modified, street legal cart that retails for $8,300 qualifies for a $5,300 tax credit, bring the cost to the consumer down to $3,000.

That’s got to be a huge break for retirees in places like the Villages, where golf carts are the main form of transportation.

I don’t think, however that this is really what Obama and Pelosi had in mind when they pushed for that law.
