I played the Titleist DT SoLo balls for several years before moving on to the Callaway HX Hot and Bridgestone E6. But that was some time ago. Now Titleist has updated the line with the DT Carry and the DT Roll.

The DT Roll is a two piece, 392 dimple ball that’s designed to offer a lower, more penetrating flight—and thus more roll. It seems like it would be a good ball match for me. I tend to hit the ball high off the tee, getting lots of carry but no roll.

I’d welcome any reviews of the ball. I plan to test it as soon as the weather warms up a bit—but in Michigan that could be a while.

  • I just can’t get excited about the DT series, because I don’t like the NXT series either.  Love the ProV1, but I have no business playing with a $4 ball.

I am playing with the TaylorMade Burner about 50% of the time, and then HX Hots and the last of my TP Reds.

I do have to report playing a little more with the Hot Bite, and while I can’t report anything positive about durability, the way this ball plays is amazing.  I am playing sleeve by sleeve, and demo ball by demo ball-- I don’t plan on buying a dozen of the Hot Bites, but I am going to get a sleeve for a scramble I am playing next week.  It truly is a dilemma, it is the crappiest ball in durability, but also the best playing ball by far for me.

  • Based on what you’re saying, I can see that I’m NOT going to make a switch to the Hot Bite. Durability is a major issue with me. I lose enough balls as it is. I don’t want to have to retire balls because they’re too scruffed to play
