Titleist AP1 Iron Set
TITLEIST AP1 Iron Set 4-GW with Steel Shafts
It’s my own myopic view, but my thinking about Titleist doesn’t normally extend beyond their balls. I’ve got a Titleist putter, but I think of it as a Scotty Cameron. The rest of their club lines don’t really cross my mind.
Fans of Titleist, though, will be pleased to know that they continue to produce new irons and metal woods almost as rapidly as TaylorMade, Callaway and Ping.
The new Titleist AP1 Irons feature multi material construction, with a steel body, tungsten nickel sole, elastomer bar and aluminum cavity plate. The purpose all of these materials, Titleist says, is better feel and performance.
On the design side, the Titleist AP1 irons feature a dual cavity design. A central cross member featuring a soft elastomer cushion provides structural rigidity behind the impact area while also dampening face vibration for better overall feel. The lower cavity of the Titleist AP1 iron is enclosed by a tungsten nickel box. This high density material places the center of gravity (CG) low and deep for performance, while also providing low frequency vibration dampening for outstanding solid feel.
The clubs look quite sleek, and will appeal to the sensibilities of the better players (under 15 handicap) that they are aimed at.

Well, I probably need to move to that new set of clubs since I think I may move into that under 15 index
. 5 weeks ago my 18.3 index was made up of all low 90s with one 88. 3 weeks ago on the last update, I moved to a 16.4 with 4 high 80s and the rest 90s. In the update later this week I will probably be around a 14, since I had a life low 85 and will have no 90s as part of the index calculation.
