Time To Regrip
The weather has finally turned here in Michigan, and I’m once again able to head to the course. So premarations must be made. Step one is to regrip my clubs.
I’ve got a previous post on how to regrip your golf clubs here.
And Golfsmith has a Tour Velvet Grip Kit that includes everything you need: 13 pro quality golf grips, a roll of two-sided Miracle Tape, grip solvent, a rubber vise clamp for securing and protecting the shaft, and illustrated step-by-step instructions.
If you’ve never done regripping, you will find that it’s both easy and fun.

If you have an air compressor you can regrip clubs without the mess of a solvent. Freegolfinfo.com has numerous instructions in their golf club builder forum about how to use an air compressor to install and remove grips. Check them out some time. I have used solvent and I have used air and both have their positives and negatives. The solvent is a bit quicker but the air is cleaner and if you have a helper, (my daughter assists me) it can be just as quick as using solvent.

It amazes me how many people don’t know how to regrip their own clubs. Instead they pay the shop too much money for something they could do themselves in about an hour. Any golfer worth his salt should learn how to do this.
