The FedEx Cup Is The Hardest Thing To Win In Golf?

August 26, 2009

Rick George, the PGA Tour’s Chief of Operations called the FedEx Cup the hardest thing to win in golf.

Doug Ferguson, AP Golf writer says that there may be something to that. After all, just getting into the Cup takes eight months of play. Then there are four consecutive tournaments with increasingly smaller elite fields.

Ferguson does a good job arguing that the FedEx Cup is at least as big as The Players. But it still doesn’t feel “right” to me.
