TaylorMade Ross Inza Putter 70% Off
Golfsmith is selling the TaylorMade Rossa Inza putter for just $70—$130 off the original $200 price tag.
It’s one of those geometric designs that are supposed to offer greater stability and forgiveness, resulting in straighter putts. It’s also got a Movable Weight Technology, with two rear ports for inserting weight cartridges to adjust the club’s feel.
The face of the club is what I like, though. It’s got TaylorMade’s AGSI grooves—14 grooves positioned close together for promoting immediate forward spin—rather than backspin. I have a couple of older TaylorMade putters like this and have putted well with them.
Its probably hard to think of putted balls as having backspin. But because putters have loft, slow motion photography has shown that balls pop up, and either scoot forward without spin, or start a backspin before starting to roll forward. One current putter design theory is that the sooner a ball starts to roll forward, the more accurate the putt.
