TaylorMade RocketBallz Irons
TaylorMade RocketBallz 6-PW Iron Set with Steel Shafts
I think TaylorMade missed the mark on these by not making the heads all black. Then, with the black emblem and angular rear, they would have had a Batman vibe going.
They’re still quite sharp, though.
Here’s the low down on the incorporated technology:
- Individually engineered to promote more distance, improved accuracy and great feel
- Two–piece metalwood-inspired construction in 3, 4 and 5 irons for low CG and high COR
- Ultra–thin face flexes freely to promote COR up to the USGA limit for high ball speed
- Re–engineered face with new “Toe–Bar” controls face–flexion to direct shots straighter
- New vibration and sound control system promotes excellent feel and sound
- Wedges incorporate new ATV sole for maximum versatility and playability
The thing that interests me with these is the two-piece construction. That’s the same design principle that has powered my beloved set of R7 XDs. I really believe that it helps make the ball spring off the face, and I’m empirically certain that I get more distance with those than any other club I’ve ever used.

No- new model, not all black. That way they can paint it next year and call it new.
Props to Addidas/TM for coming up with the best use of the letter Z so far. RocketBallz beats Razr any day of the week.
I don’t need irons - I don’t need any club right now, but I forsee that Rocketballz 3-Wood sometime this spring. Just waiting for some Amex points to build up (and for the club to show up as a reward).
