TaylorMade R11 Fairway Woods
Like its big brother, the R11 Driver, the R11 Fairway Wood has a white crown and an adjustable sole that can adjust the face and launch angles of the club. That adds up to 50 yards of side t sode trajectory changes and 1,000 RPM backspin change. The club also sports a deep face and center of gravity for a more penetrating flight.
I wonder when we’ll see an adjustable iron.

I want to think that Taylormade had a version of the RAC irons which had adjustable weights.
There would probably be a pretty big market for irons that are adjustable. I can see plenty of guys thinking that they might want to adjust their lie- and even more guys wanting to try and strengthen the loft so they can hit that 6-iron 200+ yards. And if Taylormade can find a reason to justify another $250 per iron set and people will pay it - then we will see adjustable irons.

I think you’re right about the irons. I seem to remember one with movable weights.
But as for the loft and lie, I think the biggest problem will be the strength of the joint. I don’t see how they could change an iron’s loft and lie by simply rotating a shaft like they do the face angle and lie in the woods.

I am not sure the Taylormade adjustemnt would do it currently - since it relies on the sole plate for some of the adjustment, but the Titleist system would.
The Titleist system has the two gears of adjustment, which change the angle on two different planes (loft and lie). In total there is about 2.25 degrees of motion along loft and the same for lie.
I would bet that the clubmakers are hard at work right now on this. Actually they are probably already done, and the only hard work is being done in the marketing departments now.
Wasn’t there someone also who made a replacement face for a wedge or something? That would be another way to handle face angle. If you actually put in a angled rim between the face and the back you could adjust loft and you could even adjust offset that way too. Then for lie you just need to be able to have a single angle adjustment with the hosel.
