Square Groove Wedges Clearing Out At GolfSmith

January 27, 2011

It’s practically the last call for those square grooved wedges the USGA banned last year. Lets be honest. Your pals at the league aren’t checking the eligibility of your clubs. Get ‘em at GolfSmith

  • Take a look at the Lynx LXW wedges.  The “box grooves” on these wedges make them spin exceptionally well.  I think my Lynx 56s and 60s are better than my Cleveland CG15.  Best part is they are $29 (marked down from $80).  I have two sets now, and I will be picking up more over the coming weeks to put in the closet to be pulled out later.

  • I believe that Lynx is a Golfsmith house brand, isn’t it?

  • Yep.  Alongside Tour Trek, Snake Eyes, MacGregor, Zevo, and I am sure there are other brands too.

The Lynx wedges are not sold as non-conforming, but it seems like more aggressive grooves than the majors.  They come in dark and satin finishes.  But the one thing about them is they don’t have bounce options available- of course you can buy the standard and grind it down if you want low bounce.
