Snake Eyes 653T-H Hybrid Kit

SNAKE EYES 653T-H Hybrid Head

I got into golf in a roundabout way—by helping a PGA pro friend do club repairs. I then began making clubs and finally, started seriously playing the game. I’ve built clubs from a dozen different component manufacturers, but have always found GolfSmith’s Snake Eyes line to be the cream of the crop. To begin with, GolfSmith clubheads are not knockoffs, but original designs from some of golf’s most respected designers. And they’re made to very high standards. I’ve owned half a dozen Snake Eyes iron sets and countless woods, irons and drivers, and all have performed very well. You can find reviews of various Snake Eyes products that I’ve done by searching the site.

The Snake Eyes 653T-H is a beautiful hybrid head. I recently had the chance to hit it at my local GolfSmith.

Designed for mid to low handicappers, it features the adjustable weighting that is so popular in today’s clubs. Its got a nice size and shape, and from address inspires confidence. The sole of the club has tapering rails to help the club cut through thicker rough (where I usually am). A slight offset will help higher handicappers, while not preventing better players from shaping their shots.

I like the look and feel of this clubhead.

Of course, to use this head, you’ve got to be willing and able to make your own club. It’s not at all hard, and if you haven’t tried, you should.

You could get the head by itself and create your own mix of shaft and grip:
