Golf’s magical number of 59 now has been scored eight times—if you count Annika Sorenstam’s, and the two Nike (Nationwide) Tour achievements. Here they are:
Al Geiberger: 1977 Memphis Cassic
Chip Beck: 1991 Las Vegas Invitational
Notah Begay: 1998 Nike Tour (now the Nationwide) Dominion Open
Doug Dunakey: 1998 Nike Miami Valley Open
David Duval: 1999 Bob Hope Classic
Annika Sorenstam: 2001 Standard Register Ping
Paul Goydos: 2010 John Deere Classic
Stuart Appleby: 2010 Greenbrier Classic

Not that it is that much less amazing, but Goydos and Appleby’s 59s this month were par 71 and par 70 courses respectively. Geiberger, West and Duval all were on par 72 courses.
