Sawgrass’ 17th Sets Dubious Record

A record fifty players put their balls in the water on Sawgrass’ island green 17th on the first day of the Players.
Maybe Tiger was right about it being a tricked up hole.

50 out of 140 or so. Doesn’t sound so bad to me. It isn’s any more tricked up than all the other legendary holes on the other legendary courses out there. Does he call St. Andrews tricked up with all those bunkers? Does he call Augusta tricked up with Rae’s Creek?
It’s just sour grapes.
And besides, they make the courses tougher because he wins so often.
