September 15, 2004 Here's a history of the Ryder Cup. I'm fascinated by the fact that the event was sponsored by, and is named after a guy who didn't take up golf until his 50's and by all accounts, was a terrible player. I started in my late 30's and am a so-so player (15 handicap). Maybe I can start my own tradition. I'll call it the Blogger Cup and it'll be open to anyone with a 15 or higher handicap. (That way, I have a good chance of winning). Now I just need a financial sponsor. My teacher's salary won't cover the expenses.
