RIAA Sues Michigan State Golf Coach
The RIAA has filed a lawsuit against Michigan State Women’s Golf Coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll for allegedly downloading 73 copyrighted files from a Michigan State ip address.
The RIAA gets these things wrong so may times—as in the guy they went after who was dead during the alleged crimes, or the 66 year old Grandmother who was accused of downloading Snoop Dogg’s entire catalogue—that I’m skeptical about any claims the industry makes. In fact, there’s an entire website dedicated to the RIAA’s abuses: http://recordingindustryvspeople.blogspot.com/
If you haven’t heard about the RIAA’s abuses of the law, it’s worth taking a look at that site. I think you’ll find it as scary as I do.

Oh no! I wouldn’t believe it either though. I’ve seen so many cases in which the RIAA sued the wrong person it’s just ridiculous. I hope this gets cleared up quickly for them

It also occurs to me that when (if) she is found not guilty, she should countersue for their damage to her reputation.

This is definaltely something that needs to be fully substansiated before accusations are thrown around. RIAA does seem to have a little history in the area…
