PGA Tour Waives 15 Tournament Rule For Clarke

October 3, 2006

Darren Clarke, whose wife Heather passed away this year from cancer, has been granted an exemption for 2007 by the PGA Tour.

Tour rules normally require a player to participate in at least 15 tournaments to keep their card.  Clark, however, understandably missed a number of events that he otherwise would have participated in. This apparently is the second straight year that Clarke has been granted the exemption.

Kudos to the Tour for their appreciation of the importance of family.
