PGA Tour To Top $1 Billion In Charitable Contributions

February 14, 2005

PGA dot Com is reporting that the Tour will top $1 billion in charitable contributions early next year. The Tour reached the $500 million mark in 1999. The first contribution was $10,000 in 1938 at the Palm Beach Invitational.

I’ve noticed in recent years that the PGA Tour has been emphasizing its charitable works. Ads that used to tout the players’ skills now talk about their charitable actions.
