Ogio Sues Nicklaus

February 10, 2006

The lawsuits are coming fast and furious. Bridgestone sues Titleist. Callaway sues Titleist. Now golf bag maker Ogio is suing the Nicklaus golf company over the design of their bags.

The issue is Ogio’s patented golf bag top and club separators. The Nicklaus company allegedly began selling bags with the same design some months after Ogio was awarded the patent.

Ogio’s lawyers apparently also have sent warning letters to 11 other companies.

I had no idea that the golf bag business was so cutthroat.

  • Interesting nugget.  Ogio is just down the street from me and they’re my buddies….  I doubt they’d talk about it though.
