Nike Sasquatch Reviews Wanted
Over the past few weeks, “Nike Sasquatch” has been one of the most searched-for golf terms out there. I’ve gotten hundreds of visits from people looking for a review.
No wonder. The Sasquatch is Tiger’s driver of choice, and it was the one used by Rory Sabbatini when he won the Nissan.
But as of yet, I’ve been unable to get my hands on one to try it out, so I can’t offer a review (are you listening Nike? You could send me one so I could do a review. I’d even send it back afterwards, if you wanted).
So I’m turning to you, gentle readers. If someone has had a chance to play with a Sasquatch, I’d appreciate hearing about it. Just click on the comments link below and leave a few words.

I had an opportunity to hit one a few times while in Maui before Christmas. The twosome I was playing with at Kapalua both carried them. The shape of the head was a bit unusual and appeared longer (front to back) than I expected. The few times I hit them the trajectory was good and the distance was equal to my R7TP. I have a friend that got one shortly after they came out last fall...he used it for several rounds and never seemed to hit it as well as his Launcher. I attribute that to shaft issues not the head configuration. Which brings up a good point: Shaft selection is a major consideration. Shaft weight, kick point, torque, stiffness, etc, etc...all contriubute to the performance of the club. Most of the new techno drivers incorporate good science, engineering, metalurgy and manufacturing technology...so why don’t they all perform to the highest levels for individual golfers...? I think it all can be traced back to proper shaft selection....and/or instruction.

I own a 460 Driver and 3 wood. While attending the Faldo Golf School in Orlanda, I had many positive comments about the clubs. As an average golfer, I value consistency over distance, but these clubs offered both. At 6’1’’ and 250 lb, they are the right length and flexibility for me. I was hitting straight and long all the time. I cannot praise them enough and am rushing to buy a 5 wood. That being said, I heard a talk by a master club fitter who impressed our class with the facts that (1) club specs are not always accurate to what is stated and (2) optimized fitting of length, shaft flexibility and grip results in the best fit for each golfer. It doesn’t surprise me then that certain golfers will find these clubs an improvement over what they are using, some will see no difference, and some may even find them less accurate than what they are currently hitting.

The Sasquatch driver is by far the longest driver I ever hit. It is also the most inconsistent. Misses are everywhere. I replaced my R7 with the Sasquatch and it was a big mistake. Don’t get caught up in the distance. Demo the club and really track your shot pattern. It is pretty amazing how wild the club is.

Alex: maybe the club’s inaccuracy explains why Tiger can’t seem to hit a fairway.
