Maltby Xtreme Moment Putter
Maltby Xtreme Moment Design 01 Putter Component Head
Club designer Ralph Maltby of the GolfWorks is the mad scientist of club design. Most of his—often highly imaginative—clubs are designed to greatly improve the play of the average golfer. They can be odd looking, though.
I’ve built quite a few clubs using Maltby GolfWorks components, and have even visited the factory showroom in Ohio. Now that the company as been bought by The GolfWorks, these designs are available to a much wider audience.
The Xtreme Moment Putter is a good example of Maltby’s work. The rather odd design has resulted in what Maltby says is the highest moment of inertia ever built into a putter. That should result in more stable contact, and more accurate putts.

I noticed your exerpt about the “Highest MOI putter” in the golf world,
with 44.94 oz-in^2 at the top, and a huge model at 86.8 oz-in^2.
However, there is a putter I found on the market which is lisghter at 360 gm-cm^2, and, and
is possibly over 90+ oz-in^2, called THOR! It actuallt has been sold for over 15 years at this MOI.
Why don’t you have a look at it.
Incidentally, MOI ia actually in units of mass x distance^2; however, the putters can all be measuerd as weight x distance ^2 as well (we engineers call that “Technical abuse language”).
