MacGregor MD Hybrid
MACGREGOR MT Hybrid with Graphite Shaft
MacGregor, one of the most venerable lines in golf equipment was bought last year by GolfSmith, the mega golf retailer that began as a manufacturer of club components. Where once the line seemed destined to disappear, GolfSmith now is bringing out new MacGregor product lines. I’ve seem them in the GolfSmith stores, and they’re good looking and well-priced.
The MacGregor MT Hybrids have a deep face to inspire more confidence than with long irons. The 360 Cup extends the sweet spot throughout the face, and the rail on the sole should help to get the ball up from a variety of lies.
I’ve always liked GolfSmith’s “house” products, such as the Snake Eyes line, and look forward to seeing what they do in the future with MacGregor.

So how many brands does Golfsmith have?
At least 4:
- Snake Eyes
- Lynx
- MacGregor
- Tour Trek
I am guessing that they must have another couple brands at least under the Tennis products too, I just don’t go to that corner of the store.
I wonder if Lynx will get dropped off now.

I think Killer Bee is in that mix also. I’ll bet they ultimately stratify it all, with MacGregor being the proline.
