Lexus Drops Women’s Event

With everyone focused on the woes of GM and Chrysler, we forget that the slump in the auto business knows no national boundaries. Toyota and Lexus also are mired in a terrific slump, and are making appropriate cuts.
One victim is the Lexus Cup, the Ryder Cup style contest which featured teams from Asia versus the rest of the world. The Lexus Cup was played in Singapore and Australia and was an LPGA sanctioned event.
Lexus apparently won’t renew in 2009, but leaves open the option for future years.
